Journaling - A powerful tool for discovery

My prompts this week

Hello, beautiful souls 🌟

This morning, I found myself reflecting on my path, celebrating the amazing things I’ve achieved so far, while also acknowledging the challenge of financial security. If you’re anything like me, you’re deeply passionate about making a difference, yet the flow of abundance doesn’t always follow. You’re definitely not alone in that.

Over the years, I’ve turned to trusted mentors—voices I’ve discovered through YouTube podcasts, inspiring books, and enriching courses and workshops. They’ve shown me that free wisdom is everywhere (even right here on my podcast!), and that with openness and guidance, we can shift our lives in truly meaningful ways.

I’m excited to share that my new book is centered on journaling through uncertainty and change—a practice that has helped me feel more grounded, hopeful, and empowered. To support this, I’ll be posting weekly and monthly journaling prompts on social media and YouTube. These prompts are meant to accompany you, whether you’re stepping into abundance, navigating life transitions, or simply seeking more clarity.

Will this change anything?

I know some of you might be thinking, “Will this really change anything?” That’s a powerful first prompt in itself. Doubt, skepticism, or feeling disempowered are all natural responses, especially when change feels daunting or when tools for growth seem out of reach. But here’s the truth: your willingness to try is the spark that lights the journey. Let your first act of courage be your belief in what could be.

With each set of prompts, I’ll share a simple ritual you can add in—something to reinforce your intention and open new doors of possibility. Journaling isn’t just reflection; it’s an act of self-coaching.

The more you nurture and guide yourself, the more you’ll unlock your own power to create positive change.

Remember this: you are your greatest ally. Speak to yourself with kindness, patience, and encouragement, just like you would to a beloved friend.

Here are your first prompts: (And please know—I love you, I believe in you, and I’m cheering you on. You can create the change you long for.)

✍️ Prompt 1:

“What is in my life that is blocking my path to abundance?”

Take a few deep breaths and let your pen flow. Common barriers may include:

  • Negative self‑beliefs (“I’m not good enough,” “I don’t deserve success”)

  • Fear of change (“What if things get worse?”)

  • Inaction or procrastination (“I don’t know where to start,” “I’ll do it tomorrow”)

  • Uncertainty or overwhelm (“I feel stuck,” “There are too many options”)

  • Resistance to transformation (clinging to comfort over growth)

Why it’s effective: Journaling serves as self-coaching. Seeing these patterns in writing helps defuse them—transforming mental stumbling blocks into actionable insights, as research from Verywell Health shows that structured writing significantly reduces stress and fosters resilience wellnessbyjosie.com+3creativedreamincubator.com+3lemon8-app.com+3.

✍️ Prompt 2:

“What do I need to do to step onto a new path?”

After identifying barriers, shift your focus to action:

  • Reframe beliefs: “I am worthy of change and abundance.”

  • Take tiny steps: “Spend 10 minutes today researching one possibility.”

  • Schedule something: “Book a coaching session or make an exploratory call.”

  • Practice courageous courage: “Embrace the discomfort of change—knowing it won’t last.”

Example: If anxiety is holding you back from applying for a dream job, your first step might be: “Ask a trusted friend or mentor for help polishing my resume.”

🌟 Why Action Matters

Education alone isn't enough—action activates change. As journaling studies reveal, writing about our intentions activates our problem-solving brain and aligns us emotionally with our goals.

🌟 Simple Ritual: Opening New Doors to Possibility

  1. Light a candle and place your journal beside you.

  2. Breathe deeply for 3–5 breaths, allowing yourself to settle into a calm, focused state.

  3. Answer the prompts in pen—don’t edit.

  4. Close your journal and visualize one first step, no matter how small.

  5. Whisper to yourself: “I am ready to open this new door.”

This ritual combines mindfulness, writing, and intention, grounding your path toward abundance in purposeful action.

🗝️ Final Key Takeaway

  • Journaling shines a light on inner resistance.

  • Action—no matter how small—is transformative.

  • Ritual anchors your intention, turning insight into motivation.

Try combining each prompt with a ritual and note the shifts that occur. Over time, small steps compound, and the path to abundance becomes clearer and personal. Let me know if you’d like help expanding this into a weekly planning tool or accountability strategy!
